What exactly is a ‘cool’ way to solve a programming problem? You either fix a problem, or you don’t. It’s a very pragmatic line of work.

I don’t want to be a Ninja, or a Hacker, or a Wizard. I want to be an engineer or a scientist. I don’t care about being cool, I care about doing a good job.
I want to help provide value to those around me and, at my most idealistic, move humanity forward through science and mathematics.
